I went postal this morning, stocking up with 100 stadium stamps and 50 postcard stamps, the former of which are gorgeous, my favorite set since the movie monsters of '96.

I had envisioned that while one of us drove, the other would select tunes, tell stories or nap. Now it appears we'll be busy slaving over postcards -- and it's great! Truly, the generous response to our postcards-for-gas offer has astounded both of us. Contributions have rolled in since Jason's link, so I guess it's true: Reading Kottke does make you a better person.

A few donors haven't sent us their addresses, and I hope they do. Also, people should let us know if they'd like any particular postmark. If time allows, we could take a detour through Detour, Md., or go see what's so odd about Odd, W.Va.

Here's another road trip blog. I'm not sure where Chris and Chip are headed, but they're taking their time, which is the best way to get anywhere of import.
